Features of this card

The Visa Debit Card allows you to initiate and conduct transactions through an electronic banking terminal via

  • the combined use of your Visa card and a PIN or signature;
  • the use of the card alone where your merchant has a card only limit or Visa payWave is enabled; and
  • perform transactions via the telephone with the use of your Visa card alone.

Police Credit’s Visa Debit Card acts as a Debit card, NOT a credit card – a product specially designed to give you better control of your personal finances; and effectively help you avoid a build up of interest a common characteristic of credit card debt.

You can use your Visa Debit Card at restaurants, department stores, supermarkets or other merchants, accessing your Multipack or Ezepay at-call account savings, Line of Credit and/or overdraft by:

 Withdrawing funds at an ATM using the savings button,

 Paying for your purchase over the phone or online,

 Paying for your purchase at any eftpos terminal using the credit button.

Providing an additional Visa card

All Visa Debit Card holders can apply for an additional card who is over the age of 15 years. Make sure you are comfortable with the answer to two important questions – ‘Do I trust them to use the card responsibly?’ and ‘Am I comfortable with them having full access to the money held in my linked account, or (where you have an overdraft facility) full access to the credit limit?’ If the answer is ‘Yes’ then, knowing that whilst you are liable for all transactions and outstanding debt, that there shouldn't be a problem, simply call us on 13 63 73 and ask us how you arrange the additional card.  You are always free to cancel an additional card by giving written notice to Police Credit.

Important advice on Visa Card Security

It is most important that you keep your PIN safe, secure and ‘your secret’ at all times. Remain watchful for any unauthorised transaction/s occurring on your account. This will help you to report any loss, theft or misuse of your PIN or card to us in a timely manner; and lessen the likelihood of being liable for all or part of any financial loss suffered.
